Metro Manila and Bulacan, two areas where COVID-19 cases continue to decline, will remain under general community quarantine (GCQ) “with some restrictions” from July 1 to July 15, 2021.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) also recommended placing Rizal under GCQ with some restrictions, while Laguna and Cavite will still be under GCQ “with heightened restrictions,” Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced during the streaming of a pre-taped meeting on June 28.

Areas recommended to remain under the stricter modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until July 15 due to the continued spread of COVID-19 are Cagayan; Apayao; Bataan; Lucena City; Puerto Princesa; Naga City; Iloilo City; Iloilo; Negros Oriental; Zamboanga Del Sur; Zamboanga Del Norte; Cagayan De Oro City; Davao City; Butuan City; Dinagat Islands; and Surigao Del Sur.

Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Davao De Oro, Davao Del Sur, and Davao Del Norte were also recommended to be placed under MECQ.

Areas recommended to remain under GCQ from July 1 to July 31 are Baguio City, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Batangas, Quezon, General Santos City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Cotabato, South Cotabato, and Cotabato City.

Also to be placed under GCQ for the month of July are Guimaras, Aklan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Antique, Capiz, Zamboanga Sibugay, City of Zamboanga, Iligan City, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, and Agusan del Sur.

The rest of the country will remain under the lowest quarantine restriction called modified GCQ.

In areas under MECQ, GCQ, and MGCQ, logistics service providers are allowed to operate at 100% capacity, while cargo/delivery vehicles should still be allowed unhampered movement.

Within and across areas placed under any form of community quarantine, movement of all types of cargoes via land, air, and sea should remain unhampered. Likewise, workers in the logistics sector, such as those in cargo, trucking, courier delivery and port operations, should be allowed to transit within and across these areas, according to the omnibus guidelines set by the IATF.

The road, rail, maritime, and aviation sectors of public transportation are allowed to operate at the capacity set by the Department of Transportation.
