DSV announces CEO succession

Global logistics and freight forwarding firm DSV A/S revealed a change in its executive leadership with group CEO Jens Bjørn Andersen stepping down on September 30, 2024 and concluding his 16-year tenure at the company.

Jens Lund, the current group chief operating officer (COO), will succeed him as the new group CEO. He has been part of DSV A/S since 2002, initially as group chief financial officer and, since 2021, as group COO.

Under Andersen’s leadership since 2008, DSV has evolved into a prominent global freight forwarder, delivering strong financial results and shareholder value.

Thomas Plenborg, chairman of the board of directors of DSV A/S, said: “He [Andersen] has been instrumental in developing DSV into a leading global freight forwarder with excellent financial results and ultimately in creating significant value for DSV’s shareholders.”

The DSV Board of Directors believes this transition, and the appointment of Lund as group CEO, will ensure the company’s growth strategy continues to thrive, while maintaining a seamless leadership changeover.

Lund’s extensive experience and respected leadership style have made him a known figure both within and outside DSV. He has been part of the executive board for many years and is seen as a visionary leader.Andersen will remain in his current role until September 2024 to facilitate a smooth transition.

Andersen expressed his pride for the results achieved during his time in charge. He highlighted their successes, including acquisitions, integrations, and addressing sustainability. “We have managed to support our customers, create value for our shareholders and – not least – to bring sustainability higher on the agenda,” he said in a statement.

In anticipation of this change, Lund conveyed his readiness and honor to lead DSV into its next phase, building on the company’s established strengths and unique corporate culture.
