Cebu Pacific recently received an Airbus A320neo, its fifth aircraft delivery for 2024.

The aircraft arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on May 21.

“Adding another NEO aircraft to our growing fleet supports our goal of reducing our carbon footprint. We’re proud to take a more proactive approach in minimizing our environmental impact, all the while addressing the ongoing demand for air travel,” Cebu Pacific chief strategy officer Alex Reyes said in a statement.

The Gokongwei family-owned airline is on track to transition to an all-NEO fleet by 2028.

The fourth aircraft, also a A320neo, was delivered on April 17. The aircraft arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila from Airbus’ facility in Tianjin, China.A

In late March, Cebu Pacific received its third aircraft, a brand-new Airbus A321neo.

Airbus NEOs (new engine option) are the latest-generation aircraft that burn 15% less fuel per flight compared to the previous generation. The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions.

Cebu Pacific currently operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, with a commercial fleet mix of eight A330s, 39 A320s, 21 A321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft.

For 2024, Cebu Pacific expects 17 aircraft deliveries.

Last year, the airline completed its 19 aircraft and engine deliveries, increasing its commercial fleet size to 77 aircraft.

The airline currently flies to 35 domestic and 24 international destinations spread across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
