Cebu Pacific received its fourth aircraft delivery for 2024, a brand new, fuel-efficient A320neo, on April 17.

The aircraft arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila from Airbus’ facility in Tianjin, China.

With a fleet composition that includes eight Airbus 330s, 34 Airbus 320s, 21 Airbus 321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft, CEB is one of the youngest and most diverse fleets globally. The airline said this enables it to offer extensive coverage across the Philippines, with the most destinations.

The airline said the new delivery reinforces its commitment to advancing sustainable aviation practices while bolstering its operational resilience.

In late March, the airline received its third aircraft, a brand-new Airbus A321neo.

CEB is on track to transition to an all-NEO fleet by 2028. Airbus NEOs represent the latest generation of aircraft, with a 15% reduction in fuel consumption per flight compared to the previous generation. The substantial reduction in fuel consumption translates to lower carbon emissions, aligning with CEB’s dedication to sustainability.

Alex Reyes, CEB’s chief strategy officer, emphasized the importance of the aircraft delivery in meeting ongoing demand for air travel. “We also continue to incorporate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in our operations as part of our decarbonization efforts, which can pave the way for a more sustainable air travel in the coming years,” Reyes said in a statement.

SAF, a drop-in fuel compatible with conventional jet fuels, offers significant environmental benefits, including up to an 80% reduction in carbon emissions over its lifecycle.

Currently, CEB serves 35 domestic and 24 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

For 2024, Cebu Pacific expects 17 aircraft deliveries.

Last year, the airline completed its 19 aircraft and engine deliveries, increasing its commercial fleet size to 77 aircraft.
