The Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT) has tapped e-Konek Pilipinas, Inc. to provide encoding services to PHILEXPORT members and other exporters.

The cooperation was sealed on June 9 when a memorandum of agreement was signed by PHILEXPORT president Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. and e-Konek president Theresita Eisma.

The agreement covers the encoding of import and export declaration through e-Konek’s value-added service provider (VASP) system that connects to the Bureau of Customs’ Electronic-to-Mobile System.

During the signing, e-Konek chairman Guillermo Parayno, Jr. expressed hopes for a fruitful partnership, citing both parties’ joint commitment to provide Filipino exporters ease of doing business.

e-Konek is a VASP-accredited by various government agencies, including BOC. It is also a software solutions company with a niche in providing technology tools for the supply chain industry.

PHILEXPORT, on the other hand, is the country’s umbrella organization of exporters that is mandated under the Export Development Act of 1994 to strengthen the country’s export industry through advocacy, export promotion, and development programs.

On June 21, e-Konek started providing export document encoding and document printing services for exporters in the PHILEXPORT office at the ITC Complex at Roxas Blvd corner Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave, Pasay City.

Under the MOA, e-Konek will provide and train project-based encoders to lodge export declarations through the e-Konek VASP system.

e-Konek will also provide desktops/laptops and printers that will be used by the project-based encoders.

PHILEXPORT will provide the work area and consumable office supplies for the service.

PHILEXPORT and e-Konek have agreed to collect P15 per trade transaction for encoding services and P5 per page for printing services. Both parties have agreed to share equally any proceeds from the service and be jointly liable for any loss generated from the business.

The agreement is effective for three years, unless earlier terminated in accordance with the terms set forth in the MOA. Thereafter, the MOA will automatically be extended for one year unless either party provides the other a written notice of non-renewal.
