The facility in Bgy Tablon has a storage capacity of up to 5,348 industrial pallets.

It is the first locator in the commercial component of the 100-hectare Bayview Heights development of Alveo Land, an Ayala Corp company.

AC Logistics president and chief executive Rene Almendras in a statement said the partnership with Glacier Megafridge will help “stakeholders ensure food security and preservation in Cagayan de Oro.”

The GMAC CDO facility marks the start of a venture that will expand GMAC Logitech Refrigeration’s cold chain solutions across key areas in the Philippines, he added.

“Glacier Megafridge Inc. has always been committed to creating logistics solutions that address its stakeholders’ supply chain needs,” company president Arturo Yan, for his part, said.

“Through our cold chain facilities, we ensure the quality and safety of food in different parts of the country. We use the industry’s gold standards in building and operating our facilities.”

Yan said the team is excited to apply its technical expertise in providing logistics services to more clients and addressing supply chain challenges in Cagayan de Oro.

GMI has been in the cold storage and logistics industry since 2005 offering a total capacity of more than 65,000 pallets across the country.

GMI uses Japanese technology to build and operate cold chain industrial storages for perishable meat, poultry, aquamarine, and dairy products in Metro Manila and key emerging cities in Bicol, Bulacan, Panay and Samar.

The company provides such services as warehouse management, cold storage racks, processing and repacking, plug-in services, blast freezing, inventory management, and transport management.
