Philippine Airlines (PAL) will offer twice-weekly Cebu-Laoag flights from December 15.

The new service aims to enhance between Northern Luzon and the central and southern parts of the country, PAL said in a statement.

The Cebu-Laoag flight will depart at 7:35 am on Tuesdays and Fridays, arriving at 10:05 am; the Laoag-Cebu service will depart at 10:25 am on Tuesdays and Fridays, and arriving at 12:35 pm.

The new route will be serviced by PAL’s De Havilland Dash 8-400 Next Generation aircraft, with 86 seats, including six Comfort Class seats.

PAL previously operated two special flights between Cebu and Laoag in May in support of the “Himala Sa Buhangin Festival” in Laoag.

“We welcome the holiday season with a historic air link between Cebu and Laoag City. This brand-new service will help us open up a new market for tourist and business travelers by connecting the Ilocos Region via nonstop flights to Cebu, and beyond to other cities in the Visayas and Mindanao,” said Captain Stanley K. Ng, PAL president and chief operating officer.

Ng further noted the expansion of their domestic network will lead to increased convenience in connecting flights, ultimately driving tourism and contributing to economic growth in various regions of the Philippines. Additionally, they anticipate adding more flights to and from their Mactan-Cebu hub in the near future.

The carrier currently operates four times weekly Cebu-Baguio and Baguio-Cebu flights, a pioneering north-south route launched in December 2022.
