Philippine Airlines Express (PALex) has joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as its newest member.

Established in 1995, PALex operates as a codeshare partner of flag carrier PAL, working as a full-service carrier within a low-cost model.

The airline is based at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, with additional operations at Clark, Cebu, and Davao.

With a fleet of approximately 30 aircraft, including Airbus A320/21-200s, De Havilland DHC-8-400s, and DHC-8-314s, PALex serves over 30 destinations within the Philippines.

As a recent addition to IATA, PALex now has access to a collaborative platform that promotes industry best practices, standards, and innovation.

The affiliation is expected to open opportunities to PALex to networking opportunities, technological advancements, and shared expertise within the global aviation community as the newest member of the trade association of the global airline industry.

IATA, which supports the development of commercial standards for the air transport industry, aims to assist airlines and travelers while promoting “safe, secure, and sustainable” air travel globally, according to its website.
