Maria Veronica Magsino is the new Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) deputy director general for policy and planning effective January 2, 2024.

She takes over the post from Anidelle Joy Alguso who was designated officer-in-charge in May 2023.

Magsino is a career executive service officer rank II official with a career spanning almost 43 years. She holds a degree in AB Economics from the University of the Philippines and MA Economics major in Development Economics from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England.

She formerly served PEZA as the group manager of the Management Information Systems, Corporate Planning and Ecozone Development Group where she managed the agency’s ISO program for continuous ISO certification in all processes nationwide, and handled corporate strategy and performance monitoring.

Apart from PEZA, Magsino previously worked in various executive managerial positions with the Board of Investments, the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation, and the Monetary Board.

Her main advocacies are on policy and systems for efficient workplace and good governance; and environment, health and safety.
