Dinopol appointed MARINA OIC-administrator

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) appointed deputy administrator for operations Nannette Z. Villamor-Dinopol as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).

The appointment contained in DOTr Special Order 2023-430 and signed by Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista on December 7 comes in the wake of Hernani Fabia’s resignation as MARINA administrator.

Dinopol has been with MARINA for 38 years. She has been deputy administrator for operations since 2018, climbing the ranks from her initial role as a maritime research assistant in MARINA Regional Office 7.

She has served as regional director in various MARINA offices such as Davao, Cebu, and General Santos.

She was also OIC-executive director of the MARINA Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers Office, where she served from June 12, 2020, to March 29, 2021.

As OIC-administrator, Dinopol will oversee the agency’s activities until the appointment of a new administrator by the President, DOTr said.

Dinopol is an Industrial Engineering graduate from the University of San Jose Recoletos, and has completed a Professional Shipping Course with Distinction from the Norwegian Shipping Academy.
