Another intra-Asia trade service to commence

ShanghaiFour Asia-based container lines announced the launch of a new intra-Asia ocean transport service that will provide faster transit time from China and Southeast Asia to Pakistan and India.

To kick off this month is the Pakistan Mundra Express (PMX) that provides a direct trade link from China and Southeast to the Indian Subcontinent.

Three of the box ships—Cosco Container Lines Southeast Asia (Coscon Sea), China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL), and Wan Hai Lines—will start the service from Shanghai on June 25, while Pacific International Lines (PIL) will join the service on August 6.

The PMX will deploy six vessels, each with a nominal capacity of 4,250 TEUs. Of this total, Coscon Sea and Wan Hai will each provide two ships, and CSCL and PIL will contribute one vessel each.

The weekly port rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang (N), Port Klang (W), Karachi, Mundra, Port Klang (N), Singapore, Hong Kong, and back to Shanghai.
