AirAsia Philippines launched daily flights to Tokyo via Narita on February 1, the budget airline said in a statement.

Z2 190 took off from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at 4:15 am with an 84% load factor and arrived at Narita International Airport at 9:45 am (Japan Standard Time).

The return flight departed Narita at 11:25 am and landed at NAIA at 2:55 pm (local time).

The daily Tokyo via Narita flight was AirAsia’s second top-selling international destination in January and is expected to revitalize Japan as one of the carrier’s top destinations in East Asia.

Tokyo is the second Japanese destination of the airline, having commenced its tri-weekly Manila-Osaka route on December 6, 2022.

“Our maiden flight to Tokyo is just one of the many regional destinations we plan to open this first quarter of the year as we aim to fully restore our international capacity in coming months,” said AirAsia Philippines chief executive Ricky Isla.

The airline flies to Osaka, Taipei, Hong Kong, Bali, and Kaohsiung, as well as its local routes to Caticlan, Tagbilaran, Bacolod, Cagayan, and Iloilo.

As part of its 2.2 Red Hot Sale promotion, AirAsia Philippines is offering a P22 one-way base fare to Tokyo available for booking until February 5 for and travel until October 11, 2023.

AirAsia Philippines also just introduced a baggage offering of 60 kilograms at P1,280 for domestic and P2,760 for international flights. Guests can still avail of the other weight options – 20kg, 25kg, 30kg and 40kg.
