Israeli ocean box liner Zim Integrated Shipping Services has announced the final phase of its new network to be launched April 2017.

The new service, Zim Med Pacific (ZMP), will serve both the Asia-Pacific Northwest and the Asia-East Med/Black Sea trades.

In the Asia-Pacific Northwest trade, ZMP offers a fast link from Asia to the Pacific Northwest, connecting major ports in Southeast Asia and China to the Vancouver gateway. The network will offer competitive transit time with rail link to inland destinations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as expanded coverage of Asian ports and connection to the carrier’s intra-Asia network via Port Klang.

This new line offers two new direct calls from Cai Mep, Vietnam and Xiamen, China.

In addition, a second Pacific string, Zim Pacific North (ZPN), will be operating with the following rotation: Hong Kong, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Pusan, Tacoma, Vancouver, Pusan, Kwangyang, Kaohsiung, and Hong Kong.

In the Asia-East-Med/Black Sea trade, meanwhile, the new ZMP offers fast and efficient link between Asia and the East Med/Black sea ports, including a direct call to Novorossiysk, with excellent connection to the regional network.

Additionally, Zim is launching a new India-East Med/Black Sea string—the India Med Express (IMX)—with the following rotation: Mundra, Hazira, Nava Sheva, Colombo, Alexandria, Haifa, Mersin. Istanbul, and Mundra,

IMX enhances Zim’s growing activity in the Indian sub-continent, which includes a significantly upgraded portfolio, as well as a cooperation agreement with Avvashya-CCI Logistics, a subsidiary of Allcargo Logistics Limited, to provide logistics services in India to the carrier’s customers.

Zim CEO Rafi Danieli said the upgraded network is a mostly independent operation by the carrier, and will deploy 15 vessels of 4,500 twenty-foot equivalent units in capacity. Zim does not belong to any of the three major shipping alliances on key maritime trade lanes.

The new ZMP service will have a rotation of Port Klang, Cai Mep, Da Chan Bay, Yantian, Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Vancouver, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Da Chan Bay, Port Klang, Ashdod, Haifa, Istanbul, Novorossiysk, Odessa, Istanbul, Haifa, and Port Klang.
