  • Vietnam Airlines is resuming direct flights to Manila in December, offering two routes: Ho Chi Minh-Manila and Hanoi-Manila
  • The airline will operate these routes with its Airbus A321 fleet and will be the sole Vietnam-based carrier offering direct flights to the Philippines
  • This marks the return of direct flights between Vietnam and the Philippines, with Vietnam a sought-after tourist destination in Southeast Asia for Filipino travelers

Vietnam Airlines is set to relaunch direct flights to Manila this December, offering two routes.

The airline will fly from Ho Chi Minh to Manila starting December 1 on a four-times-weekly schedule, and from Hanoi to Manila on December 2, operating three times a week.

Both routes will be serviced by Vietnam Airlines’ Airbus A321 fleet, making it the only Vietnam-based carrier offering direct flights to the Philippines.

The last time Vietnam Airlines operated the Ho Chi Minh-Manila route was in November 2001. This is a significant reconnection for travelers between Vietnam and the Philippines because Vietnam is a top tourist spot in Southeast Asia, popular among Filipino travelers.

Currently, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific serve flights to both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Cebu Pacific is also gearing up to launch flights to Da Nang on December 7.
