A number of seaports resumed operations after storm signal warnings from typhoon #Paeng were lifted in some areas, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said in a 10pm bulletin on Oct 29.

These ports are:

Port Management Office (PMO) Surigao

  • Baseport Surigao
  • Port of San Jose
  • Port of Lipata
  • Port of Dapa
  • Port of Tandag

PMO Zamboanga

  • Baseport Zamboanga
  • Port of Isabela

PMO Misamis Occidental/Ozamiz

  • Bay and River only

PMO Bohol

  • Baseport Tagbilaran
  • Port of Ubay

PMO Negros Oriental/Siquijor

  • Baseport Dumaguete
  • Port of Larena
  • Port of Tandayag

PMO Eastern Leyte/Samar

  • Port of Liloan

PMO of Davao

  • Babak/Samal

Restarting operations are:

  • Baseport Nasipit
  • Port of Masao
  • Port of Matnog
  • Regular shipping operations will resume in Cebu baseport (Piers 1, 2, 3 and 4) tomorrow (Oct 30), according to the Cebu Port Authority.

Some shipping lines have, however, resumed operations out of Cebu by late evening of Oct 29.

South Harbor and Manila International Container Terminal had suspended the empty container drop offs/receivals effective 12 midnight of October 29.

MICT temporarily held its vessel, yard and gate operations  at 7am on October 29.

The use of the runway at Ninoy Aquino International Airport was on hold until 10pm Oct 29 from an initial suspension of from 4pm to 6pm.

Strong winds within the NAIA aerodrome made it difficult for several planes to land, resulting in diversions since 3:30pm, according to airport authorities.

Other airport updates:

• Central Luzon, Romblon, Sangley, and San Jose airports cancelled flights on October 29.

• Sangley Airport suspended tower and airport operations due to the storm and rising sea levels.

• All domestic flights at Clark International Airport were cancelled on October 29.

• Busuanga Airport suspended aerodrome control service due to heavy rain, as all flights in the airport have been cancelled.

• Bicol International Airport and flight operations were suspended, with airlines cancelling flights since yesterday (October 28). No damage has been reported in the airport’s ATS/ANS/Aerodrome Safety Office Equipment.

• Airports in the Bicol Region that reported no damages are readying to return to normal operations as the storm has passed the area.

• Visayas airports (Kalibo, Iloilo, and Bacolod) have adjusted schedules of several flights, with Roxas and Antique airports suspending flight operations since 9:00 p.m. of Oct 28.

• At Tacloban Airport, the CAAP management distributed Malasakit Kits to the passengers of a delayed Air Asia flight from Manila.

• Davao International Airport cancelled three flights for the day (Oct 29).

  Two flights were delayed at Laguindingan Airport.

Severe typhoon Paeng shut down sea and air ports on Oct 29, cancelling sailings and flights and stranding about 7,000 sea passengers.

The typhoon has killed 45 people and injured dozens more.
