Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) and FedEx Express (FedEx) have signed a memorandum of understanding that allows post offices to accept FedEx parcels.

The three-month trial, which kicked off on September 25, presents FedEx customers with a new option: they can now drop off their parcels at POPStop counters located within six participating post offices across the island at no extra charge, FedEx said in a statement.

POPStop, a dedicated facility for eCommerce parcel transactions, including parcel lodgment and eCommerce returns, is now available at all post offices.

Manned by SingPost staff, these POPStops offer guidance and support to customers sending out parcels.

SingPost will ensure a seamless handover of FedEx parcels to FedEx on a daily basis, ensuring a swift and efficient delivery process.

The six post offices participating in this trial are Punggol Post Office; Raffles Place Post Office; Tampines Post Office; Woodlands Central Post Office; Jurong West Post Office; and Marine Parade Post Office.

FedEx said the collaboration meets demand for flexible shipping choices in the cargo and logistics sectors created by the thriving e-commerce industry.

The partnership also benefits businesses in international trade as it combines FedEx’s global network with SingPost’s infrastructure, making shipping more efficient and cost-effective, saving time and money, FedEx explained.

Eric Tan, FedEx Express Singapore’s managing director, said the partnership with SingPost aims to help Singapore businesses enter new markets more easily and affordably using FedEx’s global network, unique services, and advanced digital tools.

Neo Su Yin, SingPost’s CEO in Singapore, noted the partnership brings to consumers by enabling parcel drop-offs at post offices.
