The Philippine Ship Agents Association (PSAA) kicked off its yearlong 50th anniversary celebration with a golf tournament at the Ayala Greenfields Golf Course.

The golf tournament held on February 19, 2024 was attended by participants who were mostly from the shipping community and industry partners. Part of the proceeds from the event was for the benefit of the Mangyan communities at Pinamalayan, Mindoro.

The following were the event’s winners:

Lowest Net – Ian Canoy

Class A

  • Champion – Bernard Morillo
  • 1st runner-up – Ricky Tangan
  • 2nd runner-up – Ariel San Pedro

Class B

  • Champion – Noli Mendoza
  • 1st runner-up – Rod Chang
  • 2nd runner-up – Perpetuo Faytaren

Class C

* Champion – Willy Monillas

* 1st runner-up – Patrick Ronas

* 2nd runner-up – Felix Kim

Class D

  • Champion – Babie Ruth Lagura
  • 1st runner-up – Jessa Gumanoy
  • 2nd runner-up – Myrna Enriquez

  • Nearest the Pin – Ian Canoy
  • Most Accurate Drive – Andoy Perez
  • Longest Putt – Chris Hererra
  • Lowest Gross – Ian Canoy

  • Winner of special raffle of a Frederique Consent watch worth P169,000 – Renato Mamaril

Founded on July 16, 1974, PSAA currently represents a membership of 44 ship agents.

PSAA president Joselito Ilagan earlier said one of the association’s focus advocacies next year is on improving the industry’s competitiveness, particularly on lowering costs as he noted the country’s rates remain high. PSAA also hopes to continue growing its membership.
