Singapore-based Pacific International Lines (PIL) has bought 1,750 energy-efficient active controlled-atmosphere system refrigerated containers from Carrier Transicold to expand the ocean carrier’s reefer inventory.
Carrier Transicold said it has manufactured the PrimeLINE® and EverFRESH® 40-foot high-cube refrigeration units for PIL, ranked 12th among the world’s top container shipping lines.
In September this year, Carrier Transicold introduced its line of energy-efficient refrigerated containers in the Philippines by donating one unit of NaturaLINE® 20-foot refrigerated container to the Cold Chain Innovation Hub (CCI-Hub) based in Manila.
The new containers will expand PIL’s refrigerated shipping capabilities, allowing transportation of fresh perishable products to newer and farther markets.
As an additional feature, Carrier Transicold will provide both new and existing EverFRESH customers 24/7 online support that will allow them access to a team of technical experts for assistance while on board a vessel.

Lim Chee Wei, general manager of PIL’s logistics division, said the shipping company “is upscaling our suite of reefer services, providing sophisticated solutions such as controlled atmosphere containers to meet our customers’ needs”.
Lim said PIL’s aim is to provide reliable products to protect its customers’ valuable cargo in the most energy-efficient manner to support sustainability efforts.
“We awarded our reefer order to Carrier Transicold that includes EverFRESH integrated controlled atmosphere refrigerated containers,” Lim said.
