The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and NetGlobal Solutions Inc. are launching the PEZA digital marketplace, a business-to-business e-commerce unified platform for locators.

The partnership, under a memorandum of agreement signed on July 25, will allow PEZA’s registered business enterprises (RBEs), particularly exporters, to increase their online presence and use digital platforms to expand the market presence of Philippine goods and services globally, PEZA said in a statement.

Subscribed users will benefit from access to global suppliers of machinery and equipment, raw materials, supplies, emerging technologies and solutions, thereby improving their sourcing and procurement.

The MOA also aims to strengthen the ease of doing business in the economic zones as mandated in Republic Act No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2018.

RA 11032 directs all offices and agencies to improve transaction systems and procedures to streamline the delivery of government services.

Under the agreement, NetGlobal will develop, operate and maintain the PEZA directory, PEZA Build-a-Site, and PEZA digital marketplace platform (DMP).

The database development for the PEZA digital marketplace will cover local producers and suppliers of goods/services to provide support to ecozone locators. PEZA said this measure to enhance the ecozone forward and backward linkages will accelerate the integration of Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises into the ecozone value chain.

PEZA will provide the documentation, information, and knowledge capital to NetGlobal, engage and integrate NGSI’s system and other related services to support and augment its services, and encourage registered business locators to subscribe to the PEZA digital marketplace.

“The PEZA digital marketplace completes the local supply and global value chain for the Philippine economic development. This will also increase our competitiveness to attract more investors to set up off-shore facilities and operations in the Philippines, particularly, in our ecozones,” Panga said.

The launch of the digital marketplace is slated for September, which will then be followed by a series of roadshows with PEZA clusters nationwide.
