The National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal–collectively known as NCR Plus–will remain under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions from June 1 to June 15.

President Rodrigo Duterte on May 31 initially announced the NCR Plus quarantine status would cover until end of June but this has since been clarified to last only until June 15.

Remaining under GCQ for the whole month of June are Baguio City, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Abra, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Batangas, Quezon, Iligan City, and Davao City.

Also placed under GCQ are Quirino, Lanao Del Sur, and Cotabato City.

The following areas will be under the stricter modified ECQ from June 1 to 15:

  • Apayao
  • Benguet
  • Ifugao
  • City of Santiago, Cagayan
  • Puerto Princesa City
  • Iloilo City
  • Zamboanga City
  • ZamboangaSibugay
  • Zamboanga del Sur
  • Zamboanga del Norte
  • Cagayan de Oro City
  • Butuan City
  • Agusan del Sur

All other areas will remain under modified GCQ (MGCQ) until the month’s end.

On the heightened restrictions in the NCR Plus only essential travel into and out will be allowed. Public transportation will remain operational at such capacities and protocols in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) guidelines while the use of active transportation will be promoted.

Interzonal travel from NCR Plus areas, except those conducted by Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs), will remain prohibited in GCQ areas with heightened restrictions.

Logistics service providers are allowed to operate at 100% capacity, while cargo/delivery vehicles should still be allowed unhampered movement in areas under MECQ, GCQ, and MGCQ.

Within and across areas placed under any form of community quarantine, movement of all types of cargoes via land, air, and sea should remain unhampered. Likewise, workers in the logistics sector, such as those in cargo, trucking, courier delivery and port operations, should be allowed to transit within and across these areas, according to the omnibus guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

The road, rail, maritime, and aviation sectors of public transportation are allowed to operate at the capacity set by DOTr.
