Mober launched its first flagship electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Pasay City on September 27.

The 800-square-meter charging station was built at a cost of P2 million, said Mober CE Dennis Ng at the launch event.

“This inauguration symbolizes not just a milestone but a beacon of our overarching blueprint for an environmentally conscious logistics framework. And we’re just getting started,” Ng said.

The facility is equipped with the latest OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) 7-kilowatt (kW) chargers compatible with both AC and DC fast charging (both type 2 and GB/T standards).

The charging ports are capable of rapid charging sessions, increasing efficiency of Mober’s exclusive EV fleet for IKEA located at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay.

“We strategically opted for this charging capacity as our EV fleet remains dormant during nighttime, allowing optimal charging without overwhelming the grid,” Ng said.

In future, he said Mober plans to electrify 1,500 kilometers of logistics routes from Pasay to Laoag and Tacloban City and is looking to build two additional charging stations north and south of Luzon.

The electric last-mile delivery provider also plans to incorporate more potent 22kw chargers and a selection of DC chargers in the imminent charging points in Cavite, Laguna, and Bulacan.

Beyond infrastructure, Mober’s partnership model provides a unique advantage to businesses, allowing them to transition to green delivery operations with zero upfront costs, Ng said.

The collaboration aims to inspire more companies to adopt sustainable logistics, he added.

Mober began in 2015 and was initially designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises solve their on-demand logistics needs.

It has now become a B2B platform facilitating sustainable delivery for retail giants such as IKEA Philippines, SM Appliance Center, Nestle Philippines, and Nespresso.
