MCC Transport alters intra-Asia slings

Singapore-based carrier MCC Transport announced it is revising two of its intra-Asia services, to take effect from April 2013.

The intra-Asia specialist said the revised Intra-Asia 8 (IA-8) service will have its first sailing on the RHL Astrum, which is expected to arrive at Kwangyang on April 1, 2013.

The revised IA-8 rotation will be Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Jakarta, Surabaya, Davao, Shanghai, Busan, Vladivostok, Kwangyang, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Yantian, and back to Singapore.

Also to be revamped is the Intra-Asia 4 (IA-4) service to provide new direct calls from Ningbo to Vostochniy and Busan, from Busan to Jakarta (in addition to Kwangyang to Jakarta), from Kwangyang to Shanghai (in addition to Busan to Shanghai), and from Keelung to Busan and Vostochniy.

The IA-4 will also introduce direct calls from Indonesia: from Jakarta to Kaohsiung, Keelung, Yantian, and Ningbo, said MCC Transport, a wholly owned subsidiary of the A.P. Moller-Maersk group.

There will also be new direct port calls from Hong Kong to Keelung, and from Singapore to Ningbo.

The revised IA-4 service rotation is Keelung, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Jakarta, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Hong Kong, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Vostochniy, Busan, Kwangyang, Shanghai, and Keelung.

The rearranged loop will begin on April 1, the day the SFL Falcon is expected to arrive at Kwangyang.
