Maersk has launched a new digital solution for air freight booking for its clients, offering around 70,000 airport connections across 90 countries with instant pricing and value-added service options.
The new online tool on Maersk.com enables customers to effortlessly book air cargo requirements, providing instant prices between virtually all relevant global airports, the company said in a statement.
This move reflects Maersk’s commitment to connecting and simplifying its customers’ supply chains, it said.
In response to the current climate of volatility and uncertainty in global supply chains, customers are looking for “agility and resilience,” and the platform’s transparency enables informed decision-making, allowing customers to quickly navigate cargo movements across borders, according to Darryl Judd, regional head of air freight for Maersk in the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa.
“We are noticing that customers sitting in one part of the world need to move raw material from origin to destination without being at either of the locations. Our digital air freight solution allows them to make such bookings seamlessly,” Judd said.
Maersk’s air freight solutions cover cargo movement from most of India’s international airports, complemented by an integrated logistics network with widespread hinterland coverage.
This network facilitates cargo movement to and from 80% of India’s postal/ZIP codes, offering end-to-end pick-up and deliveries.
Additionally, customers can opt for Maersk Customs Services to ensure smooth customs clearance and conveniently track their cargo from any location at any time.
