New Indonesian digital platform Andalin Trade is ready to open new markets for Philippines traders seeking opportunities in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Andalin Trade recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Trade and Industry’s Export Marketing Bureau to promote the onboarding of Philippine industry players, exporters in particular, on the digital platform.

The DTI unit said in a statement that Andalin Trade, which was launched on June 14 in Jakarta, offers a globally accessible e-commerce platform with a secure and seamless process.

DTI-EMB director Christopher Lawrence Arnuco said he hopes that through Andalin Trade, Filipino exporters would be encouraged to look for new markets and partners and boost the confidence of would-be exporters in engaging in cross-border trade.

“We aim to conduct joint briefings with exporters to promote onboarding on Andalin Trade,” Arnuco said.

The MOU was signed by DTI-EMB supervising assistant secretary Glenn Peñaranda and Andalin chief operating officer Saut Tambunan.

“The MOU signing with the Philippines is another step forward for Andalin to digitalize international trade in Southeast Asia after earlier collaboration with Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam,” Andalin chief executive Rifki Pratomo said.

Pratomo said the platform enables international trade buyers and sellers to connect easily and safely in a more secure, transparent, and efficient way.

“Buyers and sellers can join Andalin Trade for free; they only need to pass a strict selection and verification system to ensure all parties can maximize the platform as much as possible,” he said.

Andalin Trade is the latest of the company’s service offerings that include shipping, insurance, and customs clearance.

Partnering other countries is Andalin’s strategy to become an international trade super hub that combines all services on one platform.

On its launch day in June, Andalin signed MOUs with Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam as partners, as it tapped into the fast-growing e-commerce markets in those ASEAN countries.

As it mulls over service expansion, the company is looking beyond Southeast Asia to potential markets in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Andalin’s technology is supported by 200 global ports, where it is its presence, and 200 service partners worldwide. It is currently the largest Southeast Asia digital freight forwarding company.

Prospective users of the platform can simply register on the trade.andalin.com website and undergo a verification process. After passing, they can submit a request for quotation (RFQ) directly or participate in a bidding.

Andalin Trade’s chat feature enables both trading parties to negotiate until they reach an agreement.
