FedEx expanded its one-stop-shop (OSS) logistics services for dangerous goods in Chiang Mai and Lamphun, Thailand, which will benefit local businesses in the two areas.

The expansion enables businesses in both regions to conveniently export and import dangerous goods, including electronic devices, glues, bleaches, and paints, using FedEx International Priority service, the company said in a statement.

Dangerous goods, which may pose health, safety, or environmental hazards, are properly handled, ensuring safe packing, marking, labeling, and documentation. Trained personnel manage the shipping process to guarantee the safe arrival of the goods at their destination.

Audrey Cheong, vice president of Southeast Asia operations at FedEx Express, highlighted the increasing demand for exporting dangerous goods from the northern part of Thailand, where numerous manufacturers and laboratories are situated.

“Through the expansion of this suite of logistics services, we are equipping more local businesses, especially in the electronics, aerospace, medical, and chemicals sectors, with the essential tools to enhance their capabilities to meet the growing demand of their customers. We aim at unlocking more possibilities for Thai businesses to tap into cross-border trade opportunities,” Cheong said in a statement.

As part of FedEx’s commitment to supporting local businesses and streamlining supply chains, various innovative services have been introduced, Cheong added.

This includes Application Programming Interface solutions for e-tailers to integrate FedEx shipping services into their platforms. Additionally, FedEx Ship Manager Lite offers customers the convenience of shipping packages without the need to print documents.

The relaunch of FedEx International Economy services provides day-defined transit times for less urgent shipments, offering Thai businesses more flexible connections to 170 markets.
