FAST Logistics Group is expanding its footprint in North Cebu with the groundbreaking on August 4 of a new dry warehouse at the FAST Logistics and ColdChain Hub in Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu.

In a statement, the company said the dry warehouse gives importance to an overlooked but equally vital sector, that of non-perishable goods.

The facility is strategically located to enhance distribution efficiency, reduce transportation costs and transit times for non-perishable products, it said. It added the warehouse is an economical option for clients in the region looking to store items in a secure environment, ensuring they will remain undamaged and accessible to various markets, without specialized climate control.

Manny Onrejas Jr., CEO of FAST Logistics Group, said the dry warehouse is a milestone that “should have been built yesterday,” and is a demonstration of how FAST supports a customer-focused approach by regularly seeking ways to enhance service quality and exceed expectations of clients.

The warehouse is the latest addition to the buildings at the North Cebu hub, an integrated complex with a 10,000-pallet position cold storage, and two warehouse facilities that serve as the distribution center for three of the biggest brands in the Philippines.

Tapped for the project were Aboitiz Construction, Inc., the construction arm of the Aboitiz Group, as general contractor, property developer MVC Development Corporation, and project management by Hearn and Hearn Consulting.

In a separate statement, Aboitiz said the project is set to be completed within 10 months. More than 200 skilled workers will be hired at peak, prioritizing local talents.
