DPWH completes P60M access road to PHIVIDEC eco zone

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed construction of the 3.7-kilometer access road leading to the PHIVIDEC industrial estate in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The completed project covered road opening earthworks, concreting of pavement, line canal, and cross drains in Sitio Dinugon, Barangay Sta. Ana.

Public works Secretary Mark Villar said the completion of the P60.3 million access road will help sustain socioeconomic development in the area. The municipality of Tagoloan is known for its big fisheries, massive poultry production, and major agricultural crops such as corn, coconut, mango, peanut, rice, banana, and papaya.

Managed by state-owned PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority, the 3,000-hectare PHIVIDEC industrial estate is considered one of the biggest special economic zones in the country. Mindanao Container Terminal, a sub-port of Cagayan De Oro, is located within the industrial estate.
