The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the modern Central Logistics Center building in Balatan, Camarines Sur.

The logistics facility was built by DPWH at a total cost of P19.3 million, according to the agency.

The finished project encompasses a fully equipped 1,080-square-meter building, complete with air-conditioned office space, a utility room, a logistics area, and separate male and female restrooms.

It now operates as the latest transportation and warehouse hub in the region, according to a report by Virgilio Eduarte, DPWH regional office 5 director, to Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan.

The newly-constructed building can also serve as an alternative venue for various town events, large-scale meetings, workshops, trainings, and even as an evacuation site during calamities.

“This facility with its contemporary features and view of the scenic coastline, is expected to improve transactions significant in terms of goods distribution in the area,” Eduarte said in a statement.
