  • The Department of Transportation is bidding out six regional airport development projects worth a total of P1.66 billion
  • In separate invitations to bid posted on August 25, DOTr invited interested parties for projects involving the airports of Laoag, Antique, Vigan, Bukidnon, Tacloban and Marinduque
  • DOTr will hold the pre-bidding conference for Bukidnon, Tacloban, and Marinduque airports on September 5, and open bids on September 21
  • For the airports of Laoag, Antique and Vigan, the pre-bid conference will be on September 6 while opening of bids is on September 22

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is bidding out six regional airport development projects worth a total of P1.660 billion.

In separate invitations to bid posted on August 25, DOTr invited interested parties for projects involving the airports of Laoag, Antique, Vigan, Bukidnon, Tacloban, and Marinduque.

The P577.082-million Laoag International Airport Development Project involves asphalt overlay of runway, provisions of baggage claim carousel, and construction of an office for the DOTr-Project Management Office.

The Antique Airport Development Project, costing P247.091 million, entails civil works for horizontal structures (strip grade correction, concreting of runway, construction of concrete box culvert with wingwalls, asphalt overlay of runway including shoulder grade correction, construction of barbed wire fence, and construction of concrete hollow block perimeter fence).

The P48.394-million Vigan Airport Development Project calls for improvement of airside facilities while the P77.283-million Bukidnon Airport Development Project involves construction of perimeter fence and airport road.

The Tacloban Airport Development Project, which comes with the highest cost of P661.110 million, covers horizontal and vertical structures, including site development at runways 18 and 38, repair of runway potholes, and construction of a new Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines administration building.

The P49.138-million Marinduque Airport Development Project requires continuation of construction of secant piles.

All projects will be funded through DOTr’s 2023 general appropriations.

Bidding will be conducted through open competitive bidding procedures using non-discretionary “pass/fail” criterion as specified in the 2016 revised implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act No. 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act.

DOTr will hold the pre-bidding conference for Bukidnon, Tacloban, and Marinduque airports on September 5; opening of bids will be on September 21.

For the airports of Laoag, Antique, and Vigan, the pre-bid conference will be on September 6 while opening of bids is on September 22.
