CTAP elects 2024 officers

The Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP) has elected its officers and board for 2024, with Jay Marion Ercia and Maria Zapata remaining as chairman and president, respectively.

The officers and board of directors took their oath on February 23 during the association’s 40th founding anniversary celebration with Senator Imee Marcos as the inducting officer.

“Truly, the past four decades since CTAP’s organization in 1984 was very challenging as new markets opened up and potential competitors entered our industry,” Ercia said in a speech during the ceremony.

“We are all stronger for the past 40 years together and we are hopeful to navigate the ever-challenging landscape of the logistics industry more stronger and united in the years after this momentous event,” Ercia added while assuring that CTAP’s board and officers will continue to commit to their mandate “to assist, strengthen and further improve our trucking organization.”

Editha Macasiray remains as vice president for internal affairs while Ruperto Bayocot is the new vice president for external affairs, replacing Roosevelt Lasac who is now PRO.

Still in their same positions are Kwonglen Palo as treasurer and Eladio Ebreo auditor.

Rodolfo Salazar II is now the corporate secretary while Eduardo Carlos David remains as assistant secretary. Atty. Ryan Esponilla, meanwhile, is the association’s general manager.

The directors are Carlito Villanueva, Pepito Dino, Gabriel Cruz, Jesusito Cortez, and Ambrosio Damian, Jr. Edgar Aglipay is still chairman emeritus while Alberto Lina is the association’s adviser.

CTAP’s member associations include Philippine Ports and Transport Council Inc.; Manila North Harbor Truckers Association, Inc.; Manila Seair Truckers Association, Inc.; Aduana Business Club, Inc.; Truckers Association for the Philippine Economic Zone; Truck Operators of the Philippines; Haulers for the International Liners Association; Cebu Truckers Association, Inc.; United Haulers and Arms Association of the Philippines, Inc.; Federation of Waterfront Truck Operators of the Philippines, Inc.; Philippine Integrated Haulers and Truckers Organization; Integrated Truckers Association of the Philippines; and Metro Batangas United Truckers Group, Inc. – Roumina Pablo
