The Bureau of Customs (BOC) welcomed the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) new customs expert in the country.
Katsu Shigeaki reaffirmed JICA’s commitment to support BOC in carrying out its programs and initiatives.
JICA appoints a customs expert to the BOC every three years.
BOC in a statement said it “positively anticipates that the newly designated JICA’s Customs Expert will provide needed timely and strategic technical assistance and capacity-building support to further improve customs processes and good governance.”
Through sharing of best practices, BOC said JICA can guide the customs bureau in its pursuit toward a credible and modern customs administration.
JICA’s customs expert helps in capacity building and technical assistance such as in risk management and post-clearance audit, as well as in the establishment of the Customs laboratory.
