The Bureau of Customs (BOC) warned the public against individuals using fake BOC email accounts and websites.

The scammers ask for payment in exchange for release of parcels or packages using the following fake emails:

philippinecustom@gmail.com

customercare@boccaresph.com

customercare@boccare.com

info@bureauofcustomsonline.com

customsofficedept65@gmail.com

bocphilgov@zoho.com

Stakeholders who received fake emails were advised to report to BOC through its official email, boc.cares@customs.gov.ph, or call the helpdesk at 8705-6000.

The agency reiterated its official website is http://customs.gov.ph and boc.cares@customs.gov.ph is the official email that caters to stakeholder concerns.

BOC said it is coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation to take down fake accounts and bring the scammers to justice.

With the recent promotion of online systems to prevent face-to-face transactions during the COVID pandemic, BOC reminded the public to remain vigilant against criminals who take advantage of technology to commit unscrupulous acts.
