The Bureau of Customs (BOC) sub-port of Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) recently transferred to a new office in Misamis Oriental.

The building in Barangay Sugbongcogon, Tagoloan is located within the Phividec Industrial Estate, the country’s largest industrial estate for light industries and the first industrial area based in Misamis Oriental.

The new office accommodates essential frontline offices of MCT, including the Customer Care Center, Sub-port Collector’s Office, Assessment Division, Operations Division, Export Division, Piers and Inspection Division, and other key departments.

This consolidation ensures seamless coordination and efficiency in handling trade-related activities, according to BOC-MCT.

Atty Erastus Sandino B. Austria, district collector of BOC Collection District X (Cagayan de Oro), said the MCT’s “dedication to providing stakeholders with a clean, spacious, and modern environment” is in line with the district’s commitment to delivering high standards of port services.

In a recent round of reassignments, Austria was re-assigned as district collector to the Port of Clark. Taking his place as district collector for Cagayan de Oro, which has jurisdiction over BOC-MCT, is Alexandra Lumontad.

Earlier, BOC Collection District X deployed trained and professional security personnel in all its offices, including the Port of Cagayan de Oro and its sub-ports of MCT, Iligan, and Ozamiz, to guarantee the safety and security of all employees and its clients.

The project is consistent with Customs commissioner Bienvenido Rubio’s priority agenda to streamline trade operations by digitizing the frontline services of the BOC.
