The e-Travel Customs System (e-TCS) is being implemented at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) beginning today (March 6), the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu said in an advisory.

The digital data collection platform aims to streamline passenger and airline crew member experiences and enhance the customs clearance process at airport terminals by integrating the requirements of the Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Quarantine, BOC, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas into a single web portal.

All travelers are required to complete the online customs baggage and currency declaration form at least 72 hours before their intended arrival via the e-TCS website (https://etravel.gov.ph) or by scanning the QR code provided by BOC-Cebu on its Facebook page.

In a related development, BOC-Cebu District Collector Atty. Ricardo Morales II led the training, lecture, and pilot testing of e-TCS to refine airport processes last February 20.

The training included Customs officers and an implementation team from the Management Information System and Technology Group. Subsequent pilot testing at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport on February 22, 2024, showcased the system’s efficiency in real-world scenarios.

Morales emphasized the e-TCS’s role in modernizing customs processes and ensuring a secure and efficient environment and stated that “(e-TCS) is not merely a tool but a strategic investment towards modernizing our customs processes.”
