The Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have extended their partnership in developing technical-vocational training programs that cater to the supply chain industry.

This, as SCMAP has been named the National Capital Region technical and vocational education and training (NCR TVET) industry board for supply chain and logistics.

Industry boards are independent organizations with an active role in governing TVETs.  These boards are quadripartite bodies formed with representatives of employers, labor, learning institutions, and government.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of agreement on August 10 at the TESDA headquarters in Taguig. Representing SCMAP were executive director Corazon Curay and program director Ana Rose Ochoa; TESDA was represented by NCR regional director Jovencio Ferrer, Jr.

The MOA allows SCMAP to better assist TESDA in identifying industry needs and entice private-sector participation in TESDA’s TVET programs.

Certification program for warehouse personnel

SCMAP previously helped the agency develop national certification programs catering to warehouse personnel.

The association said the development signifies its continued commitment to promoting supply chain education at all levels, from management to frontliners. This follows a recent announcement of the fourth run of the Certificate Course on Enterprise Supply Chain Management SCMAP has co-developed with De La Salle University.
