Swire Shipping, the liner shipping division of The China Navigation Company, has launched a new direct Asia Pacific-Australasia (APA) service that will operate from Northeast and Southeast Asia to Australia and New Zealand.

The APA service will deploy three 34,000-dwt multipurpose vessels on a monthly frequency to carry break-bulk and general cargo, including project parcels and containers.

The port rotation is Inchon, Qingdao, Xingang, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Sri Racha (Thailand), Singapore, Jakarta, Papua New Guinea (Motukea or Port Moresby), Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne, Tauranga, and Wellington.

Randy Selvaratnam, regional manager for Swire Shipping in New Zealand, said the APA service expands the liner’s coverage of the New Zealand market “by increasing our frequency to five multi-purpose voyages per month between New Zealand and key markets in the Asia-Pacific region.”
