As SCMAP presses on with the determination of this year’s winners of its Salute to Supply Chain Excellence (SSCE) awards, another set of logistics awards is in process.

 

This is the 11th Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards, which is organized by Supply Chain Asia magazine. This is a magazine covering logistics events, news, issues, articles. The geographical scope is Asia, and the magazine is published every  two months. The awards will be held in Singapore this year.

 

Characteristics of SCMAP’s  SSCE:

  • There are only 3 categories which are the subject of competition —  operational excellence, third party logistics provider, green logistics
  • The competition is open to SCMAP member companies only
  • The geographical scope is the Philippines
  • Determination of winners is by a panel of judges per category who are SCMAP officials

 

Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards:

  • There are ten categories of competition
  • The competition is open to companies operating in Asia
  • The geographical scope is Asia
  • Determination of winners is by online voting by Supply Chain Asia readers

 

The ten categories for the SCA Logistics Awards are:

  • Global 3PL of the Year
  • Asian 3PL of the Year
  • The Green Supply Chain Award
  • The Supply Chain Innovation Award
  • Shipping Line of the Year
  • Air Cargo Carrier of the Year
  • Container Terminal of the Year
  • Air Cargo Terminal of the Year
  • Airfreight Forwarder of the Year
  • Seafreight Forwarder of the Year

 

To give a flavor of the criteria used, in the different categories, here is the writeup for Asian 3PL of the Year.

 

The category is open to logistics service providers that have originated in Asia or the Middle East.

  • Size and scale of network
  • IT know-how and systems
  • Level of customer service
  • Client partnering track record in understanding and collaborating with customers
  • Launch / upgrade of new products and services on an ongoing basis to match market demand
  • Reliability of service and value for money
  • Level of local knowledge of developing Asian markets
  • Approach to sustainability and CSR issues
  • Approach to security and risk management
