Manila City mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has given the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) the green light to rehabilitate from May 21 to June 25 a portion of Roxas Boulevard discovered to have cracks.

Domagoso in a letter on May 20—which also serves as a Permit to Construct—approved the request of district engineer Mikunug Macud of the DPWH South Manila Engineering District to rehabilitate Remedios Street, including a drainage system in Malate, Manila while there is still light traffic during the community quarantine period.

Under the letter’s terms and conditions, no work extension will be given after the rehabilitation.

A road closure on the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be implemented during the rehabilitation period.

The Manila Police District-Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit in an earlier advisory told motorists to use alternate routes as the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to Quirino Avenue is closed to traffic starting May 20 due to rehabilitation of the box culvert on Remedios Street.
