PUC elects officers for new term

Col. (ret) Rodolfo De Ocampo has been re-elected as president of the Port Users Confederation for 2017 to 2019.

Atty. Oscar Sevilla and Noemi Saludo remain as chairman of the board and chairman emeritus, respectively.

Dominador De Guzman is likewise still vice chairman and assistant treasurer, while Bienvenido Basco is now the executive vice president and vice president for cargo-handling.

The confederation’s vice presidents for the period include Julita Lopez (customs affairs), Armando Victoria (international trade), Virgilio Veneracion (transport, forwarding, and Philippine Economic Zone Authority sector), Jennifer Bote (government affairs), Ma. Lourdes Eleonor Ronquillo (semiconductors and electronics), Godofredo Mozo (finance and treasurer), Mario Sy (domestic trade), Alfredo Yatco III (bonded warehouse), and Joel Longares (door-to-door/overseas Filipino workers affairs).

Atty. Reynaldo Dizon and Eduardo De Guzman also remain as corporate secretary and internal auditor, respectively.

Retired Police chief Edgardo Aglipay, meanwhile, has been appointed as chairman of the senior advisory council.

The PUC Board of Trustees and officers were inducted by Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña on January 17.

PUC, which has been in the industry for more than 20 years, has 17 member associations, including the Association of Paper Traders of the Philippines, Inc.; Customs Brokers Federation of the Philippines; Customs Bonded Warehouse Operators Confederation, Inc.; Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines; Door-to- Door Consolidators Association of the Philippines; Ecozone Federation of Forwarders/Brokers/Truckers Philippines; Federation of Air Customs Brokers and Forwarders of the Philippines; Federation of Customs Brokerage Companies of the Philippines; and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phils.), Inc.

The others are NAIA Customs Bonded Warehouse Operators, Inc.; Philippine Chamber of Arrastre and Stevedoring Operators, Inc.; Philippine Exporters Confederation, Philippine Integrated Exporters (Manufacturers), Inc.; Philippine Liner Shipping Association; Semiconductor and Electronic Industries in the Philippines, Inc.; Samahan ng mga Personero sa Aduana, Inc.; and Visayas Customs Brokers Associations, Inc.

PUC’s associate members include ASAI Overseas Transport Co. Inc., and SL Agritech Corporation.
