PH's Nov export receipts up 11.2%

PHILIPPINE exports continued to rise in November but at a slower pace compared to previous months. November shipments grew 11.2% to $4.136 billion from $3.718 billion in the same month last year.

Month-on-month, November exports declined 13.4% from $4.776 billion posted in October 2011.

Accounting for 56.4% of the total receipts in November, electronic products were once again the country’s top shipment with revenues of $2.333 billion, an increase of 8.5% from $2.150 billion in November 2009.

Articles of apparel and clothing accessories followed with a share of 3.3% of the aggregate or $138.20 million from $134.91 million in November 2009, an improvement of 2.4%.

Woodcrafts and furniture comprised 3.2% of the November total and emerged as the country’s third top gainer with revenues of $134.22 million, up 53.3% from $87.54 million during the same month in 2009.

Japan was the leading export market for November, accounting for 16.2% of the pie with revenues totaling $668.27 million, 7.7% more vis-a-vis $620.39 million in the same month in 2009.
