PH international airfreight volume hits 205.2M kg in Jan-Sept

The Philippines’ import and export airfreight volume reached 205.243 million kilograms in the first nine months of 2012, with consolidations accounting for 44% or 90.208 million kg, according to latest data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).

Direct shipments took up 14.5% or 29.727 million kg of the total and breakbulk shipments 85.307 million kg or 41.6%.

For the same period in review, domestic airfreight volume hit 37.003 million kg, the bulk of which or 71.2% (26.331 million kg) was represented by consolidations. Direct shipments contributed 28.8% with 10.658 million kg and breakbulk shipments 0.04% with 14,722 kg.

CAB did not offer comparative figures for 2011.

A consistent leader in the top 30 list of international airfreight forwarders, Nippon Express Philippines, Inc handled 15.227 million kg during the first three quarters or 19.45% of the aggregate.

On its heels was DHL Global Forwarding (Phils), Inc, which cornered 7.42% of the market with 15.227 million kg. In third spot was Kintetsu World Express Phil. Inc with a share of 5.83% or 11.958 million kg; fourth, Yusen Logistics Phils. Inc, 5.03% or 10.319 million kg; and fifth, Aspac International Airfreight, Inc with 4.05% or 8.310 million kg.

Others in the top ten list were Clipper Cargo Corp, 7.470 million kg or 3.64% share; Panalpina World Transport (Phils), Inc, 7.149 million kg (3.48%); Trans-global Consolidators, Inc, 6.115 million kg (2.98%); Kuehne & Nagel, Inc, 4.921 million kg (2.43%); and UPS SCS (Phils), Inc, 4.921 million kg (2.40%).

Occupying 11th to 20th spots, were Schenker Philippines, Inc with a share of 2.32%; Airfreight 2100, Inc, 2.29%; UPS SCS, 2.05%; Expeditors Philippines, Inc, 1.98%; Agility International Logistics, 1.70%; U-Freight Philippines, Inc, 1.50%; NNR Global Logistics (Phils) Inc, 1.44%; Airspeed International Corp, 1.39%; Hankyu International Transport Phils, 1.38%; and CEVA Logistics Phils Inc, 1.28%.

Rounding up the top 30 international airfreight forwarders for the first three quarters of last year were Kornet Express, Inc; Airlift Asia, Inc; Royal Cargo Combined Logistics; DSV Air & Sea Inc; World Alliance Freight; Nissin Transport Philippines, Inc; Skyfreight Forwarders, Inc; Kerry ATS Logistics, Inc; K Line Air Service Phils, Inc; and Wide Wide World Express Corp.

 

Local airfreight forwarders

Meanwhile, LBC Express, Inc lorded over the local air freight forwarding scene, topping the list from January to September 2012. The company cornered 47.82% or 17.696 million kilograms (kg) of the market.

AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp landed in second spot with 5.637 million kg or a share of 15.23% and Airfreight 2100, Inc in third place with 2.623 million kg or 7.09%. Fourth was Wide Wide World Express, Inc, with 1.407 million kg (3.80%) and fifth, Ximex Delivery Express, with 1.157 million kg (3.13%).

JRS Business Corp and Fast Cargo Logistics Corp came in sixth and seventh, with 942,736 kg (2.55%) and 736,928 kg (1.99%), respectively.

In eighth place was American Freight Forwarders, Inc with 1.85% (684,640 kg); ninth was Highlight Express Phils, Inc, 1.63% (603,253 kg); and tenth, Explorer Freight Corp, 1.60% (590,607 kg).

From 11th to 20th spots were Cargo Padala Express Forwarding Service Corp with a market share of 1.57%; Libcap Super Express Corp, 1.43%; Argo International Forwarders, 1.38%; Trans-Global Consolidators, Inc, 1.35%; Kim Gold Cargo Logistics Corp, 1.31%; Non-Pareil International, Inc, 0.60%; Airlift Asia, Inc, 0.52%; TNT Express Deliveries Phils, Inc, 0.45%; Germalin Enterprises, Inc, 0.29%; and Goetz Moving & Storage Corp, 0.27%.

Rounding up the top 30 local air freight forwarders were CBL Courier Express Int’l; Front Cargo Forwarders; Iris Logistics, Inc; Redgold Forwarders, Inc; Skyfreight Forwarders, Inc; GRM International, Inc, Ace Logistics, Inc; Destiny Air Cargo System; SDV SCAC (Philippines), Inc; and Carrije Cargo Corp.
