Counterfeit goods worth about P2.5 billion were seized by the Bureau of Customs in Pasay City on November 19, 2021.

Armed with a Letter of Authority issued by Customs commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, a team composed of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Division and the BOC-Port of Manila along with the Philippine Coast Guard and the Armed Forces of the Philippines inspected warehouses located in One Logistics Center, Taft Avenue Extension, Pasay.

The inspection revealed possible Intellectual Property Rights-infringing goods and suspected smuggled counterfeit items, including those bearing the brands Christian Dior, Gucci, Channel, Louis Vuitton and Fendi to name a few.

Further investigation is underway for possible violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (Republic Act 9283) and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863).
