OTS officials appointed

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed new officials at the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) and Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC).

Named OTS deputy administrator III is Jose Arnaldo Briones Jr., while appointed as OTS director IV are Jose Velasquez Carillo, Rodelio Balza Jocson and Danilo Pepino Macerin.

Jesus Ferdinand de Perio Ortega was also appointed as chairman of the OTC.

The new appointees took their oath before Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista on March 8. Both OTS and OTC are attached agencies of the Department of Transportation.

OTS is responsible for the security of the transportation systems of the country, including but not limited to, civil aviation, sea transport and maritime infrastructure; land transportation, and rail system and infrastructure.

OTC, on the other hand, is mandated to promulgate and implement rules and regulations that will govern the promotion, organization, registration (accreditation), regulation, supervision and development of  transportation cooperatives.
