OOCL promotes Kwok to COO

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Hong Kong’s largest box carrier, announced changes to its management group effective July 1, 2012.

Michael Kwok will be promoted to chief operating officer, responsible for trades and corporate logistics functions.

Currently director of trades since 2010, Kwok has been with OOCL and its subsidiaries in various capacities for 33 years, including as director of intra-Asia trade and head of fleet management and corporate logistics.

Stephen Ng takes over from Kwok as director of trades, assigned to manage the three major east-west trades, the intra-Europe trade, and the Grand Alliance and G6 Alliance activities. Ng will continue to be the spokesman for OOCL.

Paul Devine will remain as general manager of corporate logistics but will assume the additional responsibilities of overseeing the public relations and promotion as well as the research and new markets departments.
