Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) announced a partnership with Thailand’s Regional Container Lines (RCL) to launch a new China-Bangkok Service (CBS) that extends its service network between China, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The new loop, to begin March 4,  supplements OOCL’s existing China-Ho Chi Minh-Laem Chabang Service (CHL) which covers North China, Hong Kong, South China, Thailand, and Vietnam.

“The CBS, together with CHL, will provide a much more comprehensive network to better serve our customers on the trade between China, Thailand and Vietnam. It is also strategically structured in linking the key markets in central China and Thailand to give us a competitive edge in this trade,” said Stephen Ng, OOCL director of corporate planning.

The new offering will deploy three 1,200- to 1,300-TEU container ships, with its first sailing via the Victoria Trader on the following port rotation: Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh, Ningbo, Shanghai, Laem Chabang.
