  • Starting February 20, trucks and trailers will be banned from traversing Nagtahan Flyover in Manila City
  • Trucks and trailer trucks must use alternative routes to prevent intense damage and untoward incidents as several cracks have been found around the flyover
  • Light vehicles may still use the flyover

Starting February 20, trucks and trailers will be prohibited from traversing Nagtahan Flyover in Manila City following recommendations from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to reduce the infrastructure’s load limit.

The Nagtahan flyover will remain open to light vehicles, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

DPWH said several cracks were found on the flyover’s wingwall, the concrete pedestal of the steel railings, and the circular joint jackets.

Due to this, trucks and trailer trucks will have to use alternative routes to prevent intense damage and untoward incidents, MMDA said.

Truckers are advised to take the following alternative routes:

  • Southbound heavy vehicles may take Earnshaw Street, Legarda Street, Ayala Street, P. Burgos Street to Roxas Boulevard
  • Northbound heavy vehicles may take Quirino Avenue to Roxas Boulevard
  • Quirino Avenue Extension to United Nations Avenue to Roxas Boulevard

Nagtahan flyover is included in the DPWH’s list of Metro Manila bridges due for repair.
