Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System, Inc. (NACCS Center) recently concluded a service provider agreement with InterCommerce Network Services, Inc to enable carriers and non-vessel operating common carriers in foreign countries, the filers of the newly enacted Japan’s Advance Filing Rules (AFR), to report electronically through NACCS to Japan Customs.

NACCS has so far concluded the agreement with 13 service providers (11 overseas and 2 Japanese), including InterCommerce. InterCommerce is the second service provider headquartered in Southeast Asia to sign such an agreement after CrimsonLogic in Singapore.

NACCS co-hosted with InterCommerce several briefings on the AFR in Manila. The sessions were the first to be held in Southeast Asia. Participants have numbered about 160.

“We are pleased to enter into this partnership with NACCS. The partnership with NACCS on the provision of services on Japan AFR is another milestone for InterCommerce in facilitating trade and logistics transactions in the region. This will become part of our eCustoms Solutions which aim to streamline and facilitate trade processes, adopting global messaging standards among stakeholders in the trading community and enabling them to comply to local and global regulations. The InterCommerce services on Japan AFR fully supports the facilitation of electronic messages not just locally but globally, adhering to its company’s vision — Local Focus, Global Reach,” said InterCommerce CEO Francis Norman O. Lopez.
