Jim McAdam, president of APL Logistics, will leave the company later this year, announced Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), parent company of the Singapore-based logistics service.

McAdam has headed APL Logistics since 2009 and oversees its global commercial, financial, and operational activities.

“Now is the appropriate time for me to step down and pursue new career objectives. Our business, and our organization, is well positioned to continue our rapid growth and achieve the long-term goals that we have set for APL Logistics,” said McAdam in an official company statement.

“Jim has been instrumental in building up the business to where it is today… We will build upon Jim and his team’s success as we continue to grow our supply chain business,” said Ng Yat Chung, group CEO, acknowledging McAdam’s contributions.

NOL had previously said it plans to increase the revenue from its logistics business, which stood at 16 percent of the container shipping and logistics group’s total in 2012.

McAdam will remain with the company until a successor is named, the  release said.
