Manila port operators announce port schedule in preparation for Typhoon Rolly

  • Regular 24-hour vessel and yard operations at Manila International Container Terminal on Oct 31

Manila terminal operators said they are taking necessary steps to prepare for super typhoon Rolly (international name Goni), and have announced port schedules for the next few days.

The Manila International Container Terminal will operate based on the following schedule:

October 31

• Regular 24-hour vessel and yard operations 

• Empty Acceptance will be suspended starting 1900H.

November 1

• Inbound Gates will be closed starting 0300H. All trucks inside prior 0300H will be served. 

• The port will be closed starting 0700H of November 2

If all goes well, operations could fully resume at 1900H. 

“We shall advise immediately of any changes to the above schedule as we prioritize the safety of all personnel and cargo coming in and out of the port,” MICT management said.

Manila South Harbor

Asian Terminals Inc., which operates the Manila South Harbor, said vessel, yard and terminal gate operations will adjust accordingly depending on prevailing typhoon developments, with safety of stakeholders the topmost priority.

Contingency measures are in place to avoid operational disruptions, ATI management said.
