• Manila South Harbor, Manila International Container Terminal, Batangas and Subic ports resume operations Nov 2 as typhoon Rolly weakens

Manila South Harbor, Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), Batangas and Subic ports resumed operations on November 2 after Rolly (international name Goni) weakened to a tropical storm.

Vessel, yard, and gate operations (except empty acceptance) at MICT have resumed at 7 a.m. on November 2, its management said in an advisory. Empty acceptance will resume at 7 p.m. on the same day.

Vessel and gate operations (for import pickup and laden export drop-off) at Manila South Harbor also resumed at 7 a.m. on November 2, according to a separate advisory by port operator Asian Terminals Inc. Gates for empty container drop-off reopened at 10 a.m.

Gate for laden yard operations at Batangas Container Terminal opened at 8 a.m., while gate for empty yard operations will resume at 3 p.m. The billing office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, in a separate advisory on November 2, said Subic port is back to regular operations. Vessels ordered to pull out will be assigned back to their respective berths and incoming ships are allowed to enter the port.

Rolly, which has weakened to a tropical storm on November 2, is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility in the morning of November 3. It was initially upgraded to a super typhoon and then lowered to a typhoon after making landfall in the country on November 1.
